From Blank Canvas to Masterpiece–TRUST

I am an artist for my Holy God, I paint for Him and with Him and through each painting He tells me a story. It is always a different story and always something  He pulls out of my heart and places it on the blank canvas.

It is my way of worship.

Sometimes I stare at a canvas for days, sometimes even weeks and months. I have no idea what the end product will be. Usually it is something that’s on my heart and then I begin to paint.

I do the sketch first and the canvas looks sort of black and white…kind of like when you walk with the Lord and you are  learning all about Him. You begin to grow as He adds details…

You learn and then stop, then learn again…just like the art piece, you pick up the brush, then stop, pick it up again. But you still can’t see much beauty, it is all hidden.

You chisel the boat with fine brush strokes as He chisels away the flesh and gets to the soul, He creates beauty.

Beauty takes a long time, sometimes you feel like giving up. This one surely won’t turn out…

God never does unless that’s what you choose to abandon the ship.

I keep chiseling away with fine art brush strokes.

Speaking to Him while painting about “Trust”. How do you trust completely when the heart hurts, when you worry, when you don’t know the outcome? How do you trust?

Do you learn it? Everybody talks about it and yet we all struggle.  Have you never struggled with that?

I keep painting and He adds details to my canvas, my life. He puts colors in my life.

Yuck! I might add, those colors below look odd to me. Incomplete!

We are so impatient, aren’t we?

God already sees the whole picture, the entire masterpiece and we still doubt.

Okay, I can see it better now! You too?

But wait, still doubting the artist, the Creator. “But God… but God…but but but.”

I wonder if God says one day to leave your “BUT (T) out of it.

Hmmm, I see it slowly emerging, my art piece called “Trust”. But wow, now it really begins to take shape. The shades and shadows are being painted in. And the shades and shadows represent the real trials in life.

They make the art piece pop, it gives it its color, its depth, its realness and shine. It becomes slowly alive!

Trials do come friend. If you have been spared so far, trust me, they will come.

I didn’t mean to scare you. Those trials we have to endure is what makes the art piece complete. This is where TRUST comes in.

The artist sees the painting before it is even finished.

God is your artist, He is my artist. He is the Creator and He already sees the beauty that immerges from the once blank canvas.

Trust and Heike sig.

The finished product held by the creator. The creator is proud of the product and holds it up to display.

My friend press on when your storms are coming in and waters are splashing above you. When life got your boat rocking, He chisels away with fine brush strokes on a canvas.

God is creating a new thing in you, He places His last shadows and shades on your life canvas and you my friend will shine.

He will hold you up, carry you around, you will be a blessing for many to come.

Trust in Him the Artist of this entire universe. Let Him sketch you on a blank canvas and paint your life. Trust in our Lord Jesus Christ!

Don’t  you want to see what He has for you?

Trust! Give Him the brush, let Him do the painting and finish the masterpiece. You have to choose it and hand the brush to Him daily. Learn from the Master, your Artist who made you.

1 Peter 1:7 (TLB)

These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return.

Read it out loud now!

Psalm 9:10 (TLB)

All those who know your mercy, Lord, will count on you for help. For you have never yet forsaken those who trust in you.

To do what?

Soli Deo Gloria,
